This weekend we went to a wedding in the Medoc! It was a country wedding, with festivities lasting all weekend. The church wedding was followed by a dinner at the winery, then the next day was brunch, petanque, a trip to the seaside for hot chocolate, and then a “grape harvest” dinner of pesto soup and streaky bacon grilled over a fire made of grape vine wood, served with bread that had been heated by the fire.

The bride was beautiful, the groom was handsome, the music was wonderful, the food and wine even better, and best of all were the friends and family, gathered together to celebrate.

At the dinner, we sat next to a couple who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary! They had been married the same day, fifty years ago.
